What Happened to ERP? |
|
| June PDM |
Joe F. Schriever, Electronic Government Project Manager, Texas Department of Health, will delve into the great ERP movement of the 1990s and look at what really happened. After a lot of resources were committed, a lot of money was spent, and a lot of overtime was worked, what really changed? The simple fact is that the promise of ERP was not realized. But why? |
| Speaker |
As the E-Government Project Manager for a major state agency, Joe has been involved in major systems implementation projects for twenty-five years. As a systems analyst and project manager for GTE Corporation, he was involved in the system changes that occurred at the breakup of AT&T.; As an information systems auditor (he's still a Certified Information Systems Auditor [CISA]), he spent over five years reviewing the management and operation of information systems. As a manager of purchasing, materials and transportation maintenance, Joe dealt with the operational side of information systems. Now, as one of a small group of primary architects for systems interoperability for the state, he is defining the future of state information technology.
