Title: Robotics Process Automation (RPA): "The Age of Disruption"

Topic: Advances in technology have created opportunities and challenges within business operations and supply chain.  Robotic Process Automation (RPA) provides a means of bridging process gaps and inefficiencies by leveraging a digital workforce to perform manual, repetitive, rules-based tasks currently performed by back office personnel.

Keynote Speaker: Steve McKechnie, Director-Technical Sales, RGP

Gartner uses the term “automation arbitrage” to describe the recalibration of human labor to drive business outcomes.  Companies have looked to offshoring as a means of reducing costs of back office functions.  RPA offers an opportunity to recapture the control that is lost through outsourcing, while capturing additional savings.  How?  By leveraging a digital workforce to perform high-volume manual, repetitive, and recurring tasks.

Based on technologies under development for the past 15 years, RPA works across a range of applications and protocols – including ERPs, office productivity software, web apps, and even “green screen” legacy applications.

With the right strategy, early adopters of RPA have realized significant returns on their investment through relatively low-cost, quick implementations.  And, the benefits are being seen across industries, and within a number of key functions, including finance, human resources, supply chain, and operational support.

Digital “bots” work faster than their human counterparts, they work long hours, they don’t make mistakes, and they are easy to onboard and scale.  With the right governance, these bots improve security and organizational agility.

We will cover these and other areas to help demystify RPA and discuss how RPA can be used to meet your organization’s needs.
